La Carrera dive site

General description

On the east side of Lobos island is "La Carrera" - a sandy platform surrounded by lava stones, about 12 - 15 m deep, with small caves and rocky ledges. The contrast of the white sand, the black lava stones and the crystal clear blue color of the water makes “La Carrera” one of the most favorite diving spots both for beginners and advanced divers. Stingrays and angel sharks sleep in the sandy bottom. At this diving spot we also find shoals of smaller fish species, such as the canary damsel, and often barracudas. Glasseye fish, trumpetfish and porcupinefish can often be found under the rocky ledges…
