images 2What is Nitrox?

The healthier way of diving!
"Enriched air or so called Nitrox" is respiratory air with a reduced Nitrogen percentage. The usual air used in recreational diving is composed of 21% Oxygen and 79% Nitrogen. Most common Nitrox blends contain 32% and 36% of Oxygen.

Until only a few years ago, Nitrox was almost exclusively used in military and commercial diving while it was too expensive for recreational diving. We at PUNTA AMANAY, have invested and specialised in Nitrox diving since 2004 , and are still the only supplier in the area.

What are the advantages of Nitrox?

Because of the lower Nitrogen content, the negative effects of it are considerably reduced. The possibility of suffering decompression sickness or 'the bends' is much lower. Nitrogen narcosis is almost un-existing. We can extend our bottom times considerably , in some occasions even doubling them, and plan shorter surface intervals.

Even doing more repetitive dives on one day, you experience less fatigue.

What are the disadvantages of Nitrox?
We consider there’s no disadvantages at all.

Naturally, all Divers that own a Nitrox licence, can dive enriched air without any extra cost!!

Would you like to get this licence?

You can book it right here!
